Through sheer force of will, Atomic Mail Sender has shouldered its way to the front of our email marketing software review and earned our TopTenREVIEWS Bronze Award. They accomplished this massive undertaking by offering software that is easy to use and helps expand the reach of marketing campaigns through a wide range of built-in features and optional add-ons. This application has come a long way in improving its services of email marketing to provide what is now their latest and greatest offering.
For even the most rigorous emailing campaign, Atomic Mail Sender is an ideal tool for mass emailing that includes a comprehensive list of features. This product gives you tools for list management, a built-in SMTP server, authentication support and multiple email formats. With the exception of two features on our matrix, Atomic Mail Sender more than exceeded our expectations, especially considering its low price.
The standard offering allows you to send an unlimited number of emails for each of your ad campaigns. Normally your SMTP server would limit the number of emails you can send, but Atomic Mail Sender's built-in server lets you bypass external servers altogether and send emails directly to their destination. Atomic Mail Sender mentioned that this service is only available if your ISP does not block direct sending.
When we used the list management tools, we were able to import emailing lists from a variety of software sources in a range of formats, including text files, CSV, MS Word, MS Excel and all other Atomic applications. With email campaigns, we noted that the software identifies and deletes recipients who have unsubscribed or input incorrect email addresses.
Creating an email through Atomic Mail Sender is as easy as sending out a regular email. Simply create the body of your email, import a list of recipients and then click “Send.” If you don’t already have an idea of what to include in your email or how to format the message, this will likely prove to be your most time-consuming task because there is so much you can do to improve the look and feel of your emails. You can use the software's easy-to-use interface to set up tables, include images, format text and even add attachments.
The software's reporting features are somewhat limited in the statistics they display. Atomic advertises improved tracking features through their Atomic Email Tracker program, which you can purchase separately. This product enables you to determine who is reading your emails, what recipients clicked on most often and more. However, in the absence of this add-on application, you are only able to see which emails were successfully delivered and which emails were identified as bad addresses.
The software is easy to install and quick to set up. The first step in the setup process had us check our firewall and antivirus settings because those could affect the software negatively. The second step asked for our company information and email address (to be used as the sender's address). The third step involves setting up a SMTP server, either through your email provider or through Atomic. They even went through the effort of labeling the standard maximum-emails-per-day limit set by each major email provider. For example, Gmail limits you to 500 emails per day.
Atomic Mail Sender scored high on ease of use. Even though they don’t provide a tutorial on how to set up an email campaign, the software is easy enough to navigate that you don’t even need one. After setting up the software, we were immediately launched into our first email. Both plain text and HTML formats are available, which allowed us to create regular emails and our own professional-looking designs. Utilizing the HTML format, we were able to link images, create tables and design an email that looked like a website.
The software is quite straightforward when it comes to creating the body of the email. At the bottom of the screen, you have the option to switch between views so you can see the email itself, the HTML source coding and even preview how it will appear in a recipient’s browser. When we accessed the email settings, we were given the option to define retry attempts, domain throttling and SMTP overrides.
Support is available in all its varieties through email, phone and live chat. Each of these is only available during regular business hours with a response time that can range upwards of 24 hours depending on the complexity of your issue. Atomic Mail Sender offers an indisputable level of assistance both through the product and developer, but the availability of assistance through their support offices ended up being a small downside.
Atomic Mail Sender is a great contender among email marketing software applications. It does fall short in terms of reporting features, but it more than makes up for this shortcoming with its customization options and ease of use. After installing the software, all you need to do is enter the body of your mass email and start marketing! Easy is what sells best, and Atomic Mail Sender accomplishes this with flying colors.
