Arial Software's higher–end product, Campaign Enterprise, is more technical and has additional advanced features. It will handle bounces, removes and more. This program is for people who are running an enterprise database like SQL or Oracle.

Feature Set:  

Marketing Director has numerous features that will help you create an effective bulk email. You can add anchors, hyperlinks, images, post and subscripts and other formatting options. The software will display your email in three different modes and you can import HTML pages so that you'll have an impressive campaign.

In addition, this software will report the status of each delivery and whether or not the email address is valid.

There are a few missing features that would improve an already excellent product. You can't add sound files to your emails and the program won't automatically correct email address errors.

Installation/Setup:  

Installing Email Marketing Director is very simple—we didn't encounter any errors or problems. During the setup process, the software scans your configuration for the SMTP settings and then automatically makes changes.

In our case, the program found our SMTP settings, but for some reason didn't set the configuration correctly. We had to enter in all the SMTP server information manually so it would work properly. After we did this, everything ran perfectly.

Ease of Use:  

Email Marketing Director is user–friendly and breaks the entire campaign creation process into three easy steps on three different tabs. First—create your contact list, second—create your message and third—choose the options of how you want to deliver your email.

The layout of the software makes the entire process simple and pain-free.

Email Creation:  

There is a plethora of features that make email creation a breeze. You can add individual images, hyperlinks, special characters, anchors, lines, tables, time, date and post/sub–scripts. Or, you can import entire HTML web pages.

Additionally, you can view your email in three different views: HTML source, plain text and an overall preview.

Reporting:  

Email Marketing Director creates reports for just about every statistic you will need to run a successful marketing campaign. An overall summary can be emailed to an address of your choice and includes the number of emails the program attempted to send, how many bad email addresses it found, empty email addresses, duplicate email addresses in your list and how many were successfully sent.

Then, instantly go to your contact list and remove all your bounced, duplicate and unsubscribed emails with one button.

The only report this software lacks is a report that tells you whether the recipients received the emails, and if they were opened or not. However, the Campaign Enterprise Edition provides this information.

Summary:  

Email Marketing Director will help you put together and mail an unlimited number of bulk emails to an unlimited number of recipients. This product is the most expensive in the review; nonetheless, this software is the best.
