M5 Mailer from Mach5 will let you create as many HTML emailing campaigns as you want. It has some nice email creation features, and will provide some statistical reports.

This email marketing software is not as easy to use as some of the other products that we reviewed are.

Feature Set:  

M5 Mailer has unique feature that allows you to personalize each email with the recipient's name. This can be nice touch if used appropriately—not to spam. Mach5 has strict spam policy and states that they will "initiate legal action against you if you abuse (their) software." We respect this policy.

Sending an HTML page with M5 is somewhat complicated. In order to do so, you have to create an email and import the HTML page into that email. Then you have to attach all the files so they will show up properly in the email. This feature is only available in the Gold version of the M5 Mailer.

This software won't support background images, sound files like WAV or MP3 or a "Direct Send" feature. Also, if one of your customers decides to opt out of your emails, you will have to remove that person manually after you receive their email request in your inbox.

Installation/Setup:  

The startup wizard makes installation and setup a cinch—we didn't encounter any problems.

Ease of Use:  

The first time you use this product, read the startup wizard very carefully and follow each step. Bottom line—we found the product somewhat difficult to use. We had to review each option carefully and many times more than once, before we fully understood how to use the program.

Email Creation:  

The email creation section has some powerful features, but again, it's hard to use when compared to some of the other products in the review.

You can create an HTML page and the software will then add the recipients name into the title, body and other parts of your email automatically. This is a convenient feature, but we couldn't figure out how to add just one image.

Reporting:  

M5 Mailer has some good reporting features including the ability to export reports that tell you what emails have been successfully sent, emails from a bad filter, not all attachments were found, parsing failed, duplicate emails, connection failed and others.

However, this product will not allow you to create reports that will tell you which emails have bounced back or whether or not the emails have been opened or not.

Summary:  

M5 Mailer will let you create personalized HTML emails to send out as a newsletter, advertisement, announcement and other occasions for bulk emails. There are products that are easier to use and are still budget-friendly—read about the Silver and Bronze programs.
